The Gretna Police Department would like to acknowledge Officer Kelly Landry for his outstanding performance during the month of February, 2009.
On the 28th of February 2009, at approximately 0009 hours, Officer Landry was on patrol when he heard the distinctive sounds of gun fire. Officer Landry immediately proceeded towards the gun fire, ultimately locating a teenage party and a dark colored SUV fleeing the scene. Officer Landry was able to stop the vehicle and systematically removed all occupants. Officer Landry located and recovered a nickel plated revolver on the floorboard of the vehicle. Through his investigation, Officer Landry was able to identify the shooter and subsequently affected an arrest. Also during the month of February 2009, Officer Landry lead his watch with calls for service, resulting in 10 arrests, 5 warrant arrests, 5 summons, and numerous citations issued. It is for these honorable and professional actions that the Gretna Police Department Proudly names Officer Kelly Landry Officer of the Month for February, 2009.
